In early 2009 the people of the south conceived an initiative in a consortium called NAMAB (PTY) Ltd meaning Namibian Affirmative Management and Businesses. The aim and purpose for this incorporation was to uplift the quality of life for the people of the south by creating a platform for work opportunities and skills transfer resulting in generating an income for these people.
The concession area covers approximately 3300 000 hectares of pristine Namib dessert and coastal areas stretching from Sylvia Hill in the south to Conception Bay in the North, and from Conception Bay eastwards towards Solitaire as the northern border and the Kanaan gate as the southern border inside the Namib Naukluft National Park.
NAMAB (PTY) Ltd has since offered exclusive eco-adventures via the three different access routes and constructed a semi permanent eco-tented camp at Meob bay and recently restored and added to its accommodation facilities the old historical Fishersbruhn facility. NAMAB (PTY) Ltd also holds the exclusive permission to host catch and release angling within the designated concession area.
NAMAB (PTY) Ltd aim to manage sustainable guided self-drive tours eco-tourism activities and exclusive accommodation within the concession area to generate income for the community and ensure future conservation for the area. Since the conception of the concession awarded to NAMAB (PTY) Ltd the concession has hosted a numerous amount of satisfied guests, and strive to improve on its efforts to perfection.
